DC-Vibro
Analysis of settlement with improvement through stone columns
“We choosed program DC-Vibro for the design application of vibro works i.e. vibro compaction and vibro replacement. Throughout the testing and purchasing process the team of IRM ltd. replied quickly. Our experience with the product is positive. DC-Vibro is user friendly and offers fast simulation.”

- DC-Vibro uses the approach based on the method of Priebe
- Any number of footings with variable soil layers for any analysis section and different column diameter per layer
- Single, strip, circular footings and unlimited load areas
- Different load cases
- Triangular or rectangular raster of the columns with arbitrary distances. Display of the arrangement with preview
- Analysis of the settlement with improvement with option for comparison without improvement
- Optional analysis of the bearing capacity with partial safety factors acc. to Eurocode 7 (DIN EN 1997-1 with DIN 1054:2010, OENORM B 1997-1-1, NF EN 1997-1, BS EN 1997-1, UNI EN 1997-1 with NTC 2008, UNE EN 1997-1 with DB SE-C and free settings) / DIN 1054:2005 / SIA 267 / OENORM B 4435-2
- Import of DXF drawings to be used as reference
- Detailed display of results with graphics in an output document; RTF Export of the results
- English, German, French, Romanian language versions
To improve the soil conditions, stone columns are installed into the ground with a depth vibrator. This forms a composite system consisting of stone columns and soil. For design improvement factors are determined, which define the improvement of the soil in comparison to the original situation. With that the Young's modulus Es is increased and the settlement is decreased by this calculated factor.
The following ideal conditions are assumed:
- The column material is not compressible
- The unit weight of columns and soil is neglected
Furthermore it is assumed that the soil will be displaced during column installation in such a manner that the supporting lateral force is equal to the hydrostatic pressure, so that the active earth pressure coefficient K is equal to 1.
